Book Launch

The launch of Survive and Thrive! How Cancer Saves Lives was well attended by more that 150 guests. Speakers Mark Bassett, Executive Director of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Hospital District, Maralyn Young, Founder of Breast Aware and Jo spoke at the event which was hosted by radio announcer, Talissa Bazaz. The main event was followed by a book signing with guests lined up to get their copy.
The launch of Survive and Thrive! How Cancer Saves Lives was well attended by more that 150 guests. Pink Ribbon Morning Tea
9 June 2019
Jo was thrilled to be guest speaker at a Pink Ribbon Fundraiser in Karaka, NZ. Event organiser, Angie Flemming created a wonderful event with silent auctions of items generously donated for the event. Thousands of dollars were raised for the cause and the event also honoured Angie's dragon boat team mates, women who have all survived breast cancer and are now part of this competitive team.

Cancer Centre Talks

Jo enjoyed a brilliant couple of weeks speaking to the incredible staff at the Wollongong Hospital Hospital Cancer Centre and the Shoalhaven Cancer Centre in Nowra.
She met some wonderful people doing an amazing job to make cancer treatment better for patients.
All staff have a stock of Jo's books to provide to patients at the time when they need it most. Thanks to all the staff at moth Centres who are making a difference where it counts.

Jo loved visiting the country NSW town of Warialda. She met some wonde3rful people and enjoyed the lively banter! Several of the attendees had experienced cancer themselves and others had loved ones recently diagnosed with cancer. Jo signed many books to be gifted to friends and family experiencing cancer.

The Northern NSW book tour continued with a stop at Tamworth.
Jo shared her story plus tips and strategies on coping with cancer as a patient and caregiver. The audience showed their interest with questions and discussion on the importance of early detection.

Jo attended the 2019 Patient Experience Symposium as representative for the Illawarra Shoalhaven District. Pictured with Liz Lobb, one of the key speakers. Jo has known Liz since they worked together in her very first full-time job as a Public Relations Account Executive. Liz is doing groundbreaking work in the area of Palliative Care and she kindly wrote the foreword in Jo's book Survive and Thrive! How Cancer Saves Lives.
